Project Overview
This project focuses on developing a digital textbook mobile application to address the issue of heavy physical textbooks among Malaysian students. Many students still rely on multiple printed books, which can lead to physical strain, inconvenience, and inefficient learning habits. This project proposes a digital alternative that allows students to access all their learning materials in one platform.
Problem Statement
Malaysian students often carry heavy school bags due to multiple textbooks required for different subjects. This not only affects their physical well-being but also limits flexibility in studying. Physical textbooks are also easily damaged, outdated, and less interactive compared to digital learning tools.
Project Objectives
The main objectives of this project are:
To reduce students’ dependence on physical textbooks
To provide a more accessible and organised learning platform
To improve the overall learning experience through digital features
To support flexible learning anytime and anywhere
Proposed Solution
The project introduces a digital textbook mobile app that stores multiple textbooks in one application. The app includes features such as a personal textbook library, interactive learning tools, quizzes, and study aids to enhance engagement and understanding. The interface is designed to be user-friendly and suitable for students of different age groups.
Research & Methodology
User research was conducted using a Google Form survey in both Malay and English to understand students’ learning habits, preferences, and challenges with physical textbooks. The data collected helped guide the app’s features, content structure, and design decisions to ensure the solution meets real user needs.
